Breaking Beauty

There’s a certain type of man
who a certain type of woman
can rarely ever tell
confidently she
can never easily, honestly
identify

There’s a certain type of man
who looks for,
thrives on, and can almost always
make his mark

There’s a certain type of man
who loves to break a woman
like a cowboy he determines
to learn that wild beauty
a lesson in endurance,
loyalty, and obedience

There’s a certain type of man
who talks a certain type of way
as charming as a wolf speaking Latin
attired in a dark designer suit
he licks the blood of his kill behind the teeth
of an otherwise sparkling smile
