Don’t Try So Hard

A seventeen year old drug dealer named Steel is the most dangerous person in his school. He gives credit by the ounce and collects debt with his fists. Steel commands total loyalty and respect from his crew; and that goes double for his girlfriend, Lisa. Old wounds are torn open when his ex-girlfriend exposes her for cheating.

TJ sat near the landing in an empty staircase between the first and second floors. He held Sammy on his lap, his arms around her waist. She was sucking on his neck when he saw Linsey and Tanya walk into the building, Lisa close behind. They were probably looking for Sam and the money from Rob. The very last thing either of them needed was to be busted in this position.

“Hey,” he whispered, bringing her face off him. “Let’s go somewhere else.” He set his hands on her sides and positioned her torso to block his face from the opening of the staircase.

“Where?” She asked, trying to sound breathless.

TJ felt like saying, don’t try so hard. But instead he suggested they go to the roof. He didn’t know why he encouraged it.

Sam delayed her response, pretending to search his eyes for something they both knew wasn’t there. For some reason, even though she had Rob wrapped around her finger, she wanted TJ and she wanted him bad. She’d let him know it the very first day they met, when she’d walked by him just a little too closely, cupping his crotch as she passed. He hadn’t missed the hint.

TJ only went around with her because he knew he could. He figured hooking up with someone who wanted to give it to him would probably help keep his mind off Linsey. But it wasn’t really working. Since they only ever fooled around at school, every time he got a hand job from Sam, TJ thought about Linsey. He worried about them getting caught. If she found him and Sam together she’d flip her shit, and he could only imagine what she’d do to the poor girl.

“Never mind,” TJ said.

The thought of Linsey gouging Sam’s eyes out immediately killed his boner. Besides, sneaking around with his friend’s girl wasn’t going to help anything. That’s what had gotten him into this state in the first place.
